Springtime in Colorado

We had a beautiful spring snow storm that started Thursday night and ended on Saturday. This picture was taken Friday afternoon.

This pic was taken Saturday morning. I had already shoveled the deck.

Saturday morning.....

On sunday, the sun came out and it was time to play.

Rarely in Colorado is the snow wet enough to make a snowman. So Jim and Mia had to take advantage of the wet spring snow.

The finished product. Unfortunately it didn't last long. The snow was melting so fast that it fell over just a couple of hours later.

So we haven't had much of a winter this winter, but boy are we making up for it this spring. So far in the last 3-4 weeks it has snowed at least 6 times with the biggest snow last week. It started snowing Thursday night and didn't stop until Saturday night. It is so hard to tell exactly how much snow we received because it was that heavy wet snow. On Friday, I shoveled at least a foot off the deck and by Saturday morning there was at least another foot on the deck. My guess is we received 2 1/2 - 3 feet of badly needed moisture. The great thing about spring snow is that it doesn't stick around for long. By yesterday a lot had melted. It will all be gone by the end of the week.
