Update

So it has come to my attention that I have been pretty lax in updating my blog. Since I have a few minutes free (wow, I can't believe I said that-actually there are a ton of things I should be doing) because Van is taking an unusally long nap, I thought I'd let you know what we've been up to. We survived Van's first district convention. He did better than we thought he would, but not as well as I had hoped. I was able to get in about 1 talk per morning and afternoon, but he slept through the entire drama-which was wonderful since that meant we both could watch it!

As you can see, Mia is growing up fast too. I can't believe that she will be in 7th grade this year. And I also can't believe that school starts in a month. Where did this summer go?

So Van is really good at getting into things now. He is a normal little pre-toddler who is growing and developing right on track. The only issue we are having right now is his eating patterns. Since he started taking a new medicine, he just doesn't want to eat solid food with one exception- cheese. The boy is cheese hound! He can't get enough of the stuff! Fortunately it hasn't had the effect on him that it has on adults when they eat too much cheese- if you get my drift. Currently we have lowered his medicine and he is starting to eat other foods. Last night he even ate carrots! He hasn't eaten any veggies since he was 9 months old.

He also had his neurology check up this week and it went great. The neurologist thinks he may have outgrown the seizures and we don't have to go back for another 9 months. At that time they will do another EEG and if it is normal start weaning him off the medicine.

Van is not walking yet, but he is definately crawling super fast, standing and getting into everything. He can do chin-ups on the oven. Open the trash can. Torture the dog. Bite his sister. And everything else a normal 11 month old can do. We are thinking that he will take his first steps any day now. And then he will be off running!
